But really, Jen is down here visiting me (Donna) and tomorrow we’ll be heading intown to Dragon*Con. Unfortunatly, with all the fun that we’ll be having with Xander, Lorne, Clem and some others she won’t be able to judge this round until at least Tuesday. So, if any of you will be in the Atlanta area and at Dragon*Con, let us know. We can do lunch, maybe even take in the Buffy Horror Picture show.
Anywho, we plan to have lots of fun, take lots of pictures and film footage, so be on the lookout for some interesting works from us in the coming weeks.

Thanks everyone for submitting!  We actually made it to 20 submissions and I didn’t have to close the round out early!  Ok.  Here’s the deal.  Normally, I try to get awards to you guys within a couple days of the round closing.  Last round, some real life issues came up.  This round, it’s vacation.  I won’t have time to watch the videos tonight when I get home from work, cause when I get home around 10:20′ish, I have to turn around and wake up at 4:30 to go back in and work first shift in the morning.  Usually, Sunday afternoons lately are spent napping and catching up on sleep.  Having said that, I will try my best to watch the videos and get awards up before I head down to Atlanta for Dragon*Con on Wednesday.  If they aren’t up by Wednesday, then it will be sometime after Labor Day before the awards are up!  I’ll do my best to get them done before then!

Illuminating Television hasn’t been updated in a few days, and I’m hoping that Leanna got the episode clips I submitted. If anyone is interested, I have the first two episodes of Smallville clipped and the first episode of Charmed clipped. If you notice, these are two television shows that I am now allowing (go read the rules) to be submitted here at Reckless Abandon. Please make sure that you are reading the rules. I had one rule violation this round (streaming video, was not able to download), but I went ahead and accepted it anyway. The exception to the ‘video must be able to be downloaded’ rule is this:

Do not direct link me to the file. I want to be able to see your website and see what types of genres people like to vid to. It also helps me get to know the vidder a bit better when I can watch a couple of the videos and see the editing style of that particular vidder. It also lets me see if you have this website linked and also what other sites you submit to. I sometimes am known to recommend sites to vidders if they aren’t too familiar with the community and it also let’s me see other awards sites.

On another note, I normally give out more awards than submissions. This shouldn’t be a problem to anyone as I like to make sure as often as I can, that everyone gets recognized. Due to time constraints, this could very well be the last round where everyone gets an award. I know that I wasn’t able to in a previous round and I felt really bad about that. However, I’m planning on learning how to make animated awards (if Donna has the patience to teach me), and therefore, there won’t be as many awards given out. But please keep in mind that this site is undergoing change as it’s still new, so please do not let that prevent you from submitting.

Round 6 is going to add a few tv shows. What I mean by this is that I will be accepting videos from television shows, however, not all of them. Please see the rules and make sure that you follow them to a ‘T’ with the TV show submissions or I may do away with it. If you want to see more tv shows added, just drop in a comment and let me know which show and why.

Also, starting this round, comments are going to be moderated. I’ve been getting alot of spam comments lately and in an effort to prevent them, I’m having to moderate the comments. Wanna hear a creepy story?  The remake of The Omen opened in theaters on 06-06-06.  This site opened it’s doors on 06-06-06.  And The Omen layout is the layout for the 6th round.  This was completely unintentional, but it creeps me out!
